Frank Lucas, R-Okla., is looking to make a bill authorizing quantum computing research and development a priority for lawmakers. After a unanimous vote out of committee with 19 amendments in November, the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act is ready to move to the House floor for a final vote. The 2018 legislation that launched federal research into quantum expired at the end of fiscal year 2023.
