The Secret of Red Blood Cells
In 1889, a French doctor named Francois-Gilbert Viault climbed down from a mountain in the Andes, drew blood from his arm and inspected it under a microscope. In the early 1900s, scientists theorized that a hormone was the cause. Seven decades later, researchers found actual erythropoietin after filtering 670 gallons of urine. The Evolution of Lice in Humans
The evidence used to answer this question comes from a few main sources, including bones bearing evidence of skinning, sewing needles and awls, and lice. This type of lice evolved to grasp human head hair wouldn't survive among human pubic hair, for example. But before our ancestors lost their fur, those lice probably roamed all over their bodies. By looking at when head lice separated from clothing lice, scientists have estimated that those two types diverged about 3 million years

NASA's Voyager 1 Is Still in Space
Voyager 1 was launched in 1977 to take advantage of a rare geometric alignment of the outer planets which allowed NASA to take a four-planet tour in a relatively short period of time with minimal fuel use. The layout of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune last seen in the 1970s and the 1980s. NASA claims that even if the mission had ended after Jupiter and Saturn, it would still have been enough material to “rewrite” astronomy textbooks. But the information they have
