Accelerating Foundation Models Research (AFMR)
A research team at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has conducted a pilot project using models available through Microsoft’s Azure Open AI Service to develop a system that will lead to advancements in traffic management using physic informed deep learning. The pilot project was led by principal investigator Leila Hashemi-Beni, Ph.D., and applied science and technology doctoral student Tewodros Syum Gebre. This program provides academic researchers with access to state-of-the-art foundation models

A New $4 Million Grant From the Glenn W. Bailey Foundation Boosts STEM Education in Palm Beach County
The Glenn W. Bailey Foundation will expand educational initiatives based at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology. Ukraine's Scientific Infrastructure Has Been Destroyed Since the War With Russia
1,443 buildings and laboratories have been damaged or destroyed since the war started. Restoring these buildings, which are predominantly on university campuses, is estimated to cost at least $1.21 billion. The scientific infrastructure in the Kharkiv region has been hardest hit.

American Adults Gain Confidence in Artificial General Intelligence
Stony Brook University researchers began conducting a survey study on attitudes toward artificial intelligence (AI) among American adults. Some of their recent findings show a shift in Americans’ views on AI. The researchers compared data collected from random, representative samples in 2021 and 2023 to determine whether public attitudes toward AI have changed amid recent technological developments.
