GeneXpert XDR-TB Tests Are a Great Way to Cure TB
Advertisement TB is not easy to cure — the best standard of care requires between four and nine months of antibiotics taken daily — but neither is Hodgkin lymphoma. Of the 10 million people who will become sick with tuberculosis this year, between 3 million and 4 million will go undiagnosed, often dying before they can get an accurate test. Northeastern Indiana Science and Engineering Fair
Sixteen competitors qualified for the 36th annual Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair, hosted by Trine University on March 16, drew projects representing all areas of science from northeast Indiana elementary, middle and high school students. Student awards were presented in following categories: First Grade — First Place, William Gordon, James R Watson Elementary School; Second Place, Paul Stevens, Hendry Park Elementary School. A total of 96 students participated in the event, held in Trine’s Best Hall of Science.

Harvard Grid Accelerator - Six Projects With Transformative Potential
The Grid Accelerator identifies and supports the ‘de-risking’ of high-potential Harvard science and engineering lab-based projects with the goal of translating them into startups or other commercialization opportunities within a year. In addition to funding, the awardees gain access to educational programs and networks of industry, venture, product development, and investment experts. This project has culminated in 17 launched startups that have collectively raised $176 million, as well as technology licenses to established companies.
