The Wake County Southern Regional Center Clinic reopened on March 4 after being closed for more than a year. The clinic closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Private Health Insurance Premiums to Rise 3.03 Percent on April 1
Members of CBHS Corporate Health will suffer the largest increase in premiums. Members of the Tasmania-based Health Care Insurance will receive the lowest price rise. The 3.03 per cent increase on April 1 will be the highest since 2019.

A Case of Measles in British Columbia - the First since 2019
Public health experts are tracking a growing number of cases in countries including Austria, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Europe saw a 30-fold increase in measles cases in 2023 compared to 2022. On Monday, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said one case related to travel was confirmed over the weekend in a child under the age of 10.

Washington State’s My Health My Data Act
The Washington My Health My Data Act was passed in April 2023 to expand privacy protections for personal health data. On March 31, 2024, the Act’s remaining stringent requirements will come into full force for all organizations subject to the law, except for small businesses who have until June 30, 2024 to comply. The Act sets no minimum number of data subjects or revenue threshold. It was intended to cover consumer health data outside the scope of the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act.

Gaza Hospitals - Only Five Are Operational
30 hospitals out of 34 hospitals have completely ceased operations in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli airstrikes and the army’s raids on hospitals, which were converted into Israeli military barracks. In the Nuseirat refugee camp, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital had added a small specialized clinic shortly before the war. “Since the beginning of the war, I have not seen my family and have not left the hospital,” Sami Awad said.
