New York State Governor Approves $27 Million to Improve School Technology and Security
In all, 53 school districts — which includes two special education schools — will share $27 million, which will come from the $2 billion Smart Schools Bond Act. Plans were approved by a Smart Schools review board, which is composed of New York State Budget Director Blake Washington, SUNY Chancellor John King, and New York state Education Commissioner Betty Rosa. $21 million of the $27m invested on Tuesday will go towards high-tech security measures. Another $4 million will go toward classroom technology systems.

Apple’s New Core Technology Fee Will Not Be a One-Way Switch
Apple is now announcing a handful of smaller concessions driven by feedback from its app developer community. Notably, the company will now no longer require corporate entities to sign up for the new DMA terms along with all their sub-accounts, nor will it require a stand-by letter of credit.
