Scientists have developed a new solar-powered system to convert saltwater into fresh drinking water. The system automatically adjusted the voltage and the rate at which salt water flowed through it dependent on variable levels of sunshine. By matching the workings of the machine to the available water power, the team could develop a system that cuts down on expensive battery usage while not compromising on the amount of fresh water produced.
