Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke from the ramparts of the Red Fort about issues of women empowerment. Modi said that govts have focused on expansion of SHGs but also facilitated the opening of bank accounts for 98% of these groups. The PM said that his 'empathy' and "schemes" are rooted in everyday life experiences.
