India conducted the first successful flight test of an indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. The missile launch carried out under Mission Divyastra (divine weapon), made India's entry into the elite list of the countries that have the capability to deploy MIRV missile systems, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia and China.
