In sub-Saharan Africa, women face a disproportionate sexual reproductive disease burden, with an elevated risk of HIV, cervical cancer and birth complications. The GIFT biorepository stores hundreds of thousands of consensually-collected biological specimens, including vaginal swabs and other genital tract specimens.
