Dr. Segenet Kelemu is the director general & CEO of the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) in Nairobi, Kenya. She was born in Finote Selam, Ethiopia, and became the first woman from her region to attend university. After graduating with a BSc in plant sciences from Kansas State University, she moved to the United States to continue her education.
