Louth County Council has issued a total of 940 road opening licences for Quay Street in the last 12 months. The Democrat said that his shop, and the attached post office, has lost a huge amount of business due to the works and associated road closures. Andrew said that it has resulted in a large drop in footfall and that it was a big inconvenience for both the shop and people, many who are elderly.
