The Body Shop Canada is suing a U.K. parent company for “improper” management of its funds

From November through January, The Body Shop Canada generated $12-million in earnings before interest and taxes, according to an affidavit. The company is accusing its U.K.-based parent company of “improper” management of its funds, leading to a liquidity crisis, the closing of nearly one-third of its stores and the loss of more than 200 jobs in Canada. It is now seeking further breathing room under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act proceedings.
