SEM funded by Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF) awarded to Nebraska State College System from the State of Nebraska for specialized equipment. The microscope works by bombarding the specimen with electrons, which only works in a vacuum. To prevent buildup of electrical charge, it must be coated with metal, if it is not already conductive.
