District 113 School Board Meeting to Discuss Science Courses
District 113 students currently have to set aside a class in their schedule in order to have a science lab. District officials are not considering removing access to science labs entirely but rather debating how it will be administered, District Superintendent Dr. Bruce Law said. “My preference would be we have absolutely no layoffs,” Law said. “This was the most poorly executed decision ever and it’s a big, huge decision”.

Computer Science in Schools: A Watercooler
despite technology seeping into virtually every corner of our lives, computer-related education in Washington is woefully limited. Last year, 8.4% of the Washington’s high school students attended either public or state-tribal schools took a computer science class. There’s not even agreement among experts about whether computer science should be a required subject, or if it would be better to incorporate computing tools and understanding into existing subjects.
