Escape Room - Exploring the History of Science
In commemoration of International Women's Day, a special activity will be held in Dénia aimed at highlighting the role that women have played in the field of science. The Escape Room will offer participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of iconic figures such as Marie Curie, Rosalind Franklin, Hedy Lamarr and Katherine Johnson. Its educational nature allows it to be focused on different audiences and offers a gaming experience focused on investigation and solving puzzles.

Fertilization by Iron in the Southern Ocean
Fertilization by iron Iron is a so-called limiting factor for algal growth in Antarctica. If there be more iron in the waters, then more algae would come to bloom (and die) they would capture more carbon, and maybe store more carbon on the bottom of the ocean. This has brought daring entrepreneurs in the past to the hypothesis that artificially fertilizing the Southern Ocean with extra iron, would cap more carbon and thus solve a little bit of the climate crisis we’re in.

The Warmest February on Record
Global sea surface temperatures are also at their highest ever recorded. The data shows February was 1.77C warmer than the pre-industrial average for the month, from 1850-1900, and 0.81C above 1991-2020 levels. And the global average temperature for the past 12 months is the highest on record. Europe’s winter, stretching from December to February, was the second warmest on record for the continent.
