Coursera Launches Introduction to Cosmetic Science Specialization
The Procter & Gamble-owned skin care brand has teamed up with Coursera to launch a four-course Introduction to Cosmetic Science and Ingredients specialization. The specialization encompasses topics including the intricacies of skin physiology, best practices for creating innovative formulas, and cosmetic quality control and safety. Olay will award $2 million worth of scholarships over three years to prospective students of the specialization, which can be completed at one’s own pace or at an estimated time commitment

Earth Planning Update - Mineral King 2
The first “Mineral King” drill hole did not quite reach the target depth that we typically desire to ensure that we have enough sample in the drill stem to deliver to our internal CheMin and SAM instruments. The rover engineers selected a new potential drill spot on the same block, and this morning we got the results of the APXS, MAHLI and preload test. We are all hoping for a more successful outcome than for Mineral King2.

The MIRI Image of NGC 604
Webb’s view in mid-infrared wavelengths also illustrates a new perspective into the diverse and dynamic activity of this region. In the MIRI view of NGC 604, there are noticeably fewer stars. This is because hot stars emit much less light at these wavelengths, while larger clouds of cooler gas and dust glow.

CT Scanners - 20,000 Scans of Vertebrates
The oVert project is scanning 20,000 specimens and making the results available to everyone. The 20,000 scans should cover about 80% of the vertebrates. Digital images and mesh files are on MorphoSource which is an interesting resource.
