University of Michigan and Dartmouth Health study looked into the science of waking up on the wrong side of the bed. The interns' self-reported mood cycles hit their lowest point nearing 5 a.m. and highest in the evening. Lack of sleep made these mood swings more intense, leading to worse moods.

University of Calgary Invests $55 Million in a New Science Hub
The Government of Alberta has committed $55 million in its 2024 budget for a new multidisciplinary science hub at the University of Calgary. It will focus on seven “high-demand” program areas: chemistry, energy innovation, energy pathways, quantum-nanotech chemistry. The funding, which will be delivered over three years, is expected to relieve the growing enrolment demand facing the university’s faculty of science.
