Crispr-Cas can cut DNA at certain points, allowing unwanted genes to be deleted or new genetic material to be introduced into cells. The scientists at Amsterdam University Medical Centre in the Netherlands said they have developed an efficient attack on the virus in various cells and where it may be hiding.

GLOBE Program Hosts Science Education Training in Belize Representatives of the Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) program is hosting a special training for educators. Through the program, teachers will learn hands-on methods of teaching science, which they will then pass on to their students. Belize signed on to the program two years ago and a cohort of 14 teachers, plus staff from the Ministry of Education are working to become GLOB certified.

Citizen Zoo aims to reintroduce grasshoppers to London
Citizen Zoo is trying to bring regular people into zookeepers. Each keeper can raise a brood every four or five weeks, and they’re then released at two secret locations. The project, named A Hop of Hope, aims to show that the regular person has a role to play in a crowdsourced response to the Holocene extinction.

Researchers recommend limiting each graphic, which the IPCC refers to as “figures” and its title to one key message. This is the second study in which USC researchers collaborated with the UN Foundation to improve the effectiveness of climate change communication.
