Daresbury Site to be awarded £183m for Science and Innovation
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) announced £473m investment in infrastructure to five new UK projects at Daresbury Laboratory. £124.4m has been earmarked for Relativistic Ultrafast Electron Diffraction and Imaging (RUEDI) The University of Liverpool will lead the £125m facility to drive forward scientific discoveries and technological advances.

The University of Leeds Chancellor recalled the challenges she faced when starting her career as an geology student in the 1970s. In 2002 she became the fourth woman to receive the Polar Medal for her outstanding contribution to British Polar research.
