Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC) has created one of the largest and most diverse genomic databases in the world (more than 2 million sequenced exomes and counting) to better understand the genetic drivers of disease. By following the science after the discovery of a unique genetic trait that protected Black populations from heart disease, Yancopoulos saw it could make a difference there. In this effort, diversity of talent and ideas is key.
