New Method to Determine the 3D Distribution of Foreign Atoms in Nanoporous Materials
Researchers at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) created a new method to precisely determine the 3D distribution of foreign atoms in advanced porous materials. The unique approach also enabled them to uncover the underlying mystery surrounding the blue color of aquamarine minerals. Crystalline and nanoporous materials, often used in sensor and separation technologies, usually owe their defining properties to the presence of foreign-atoms nestled within the intricate lattice of their structure.

The Solar Bird App is a Rare Opportunity to Study Bird Behavior During an Eclipse
In April, researchers will have a rare chance to study how plants and animals react to the sudden darkness and quick return of light. Scientists at Indiana University see this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for more than one reason. On average a total solar eclipse happens only every 375 years in the same exact location.
