Medicare Prescription Drug Plans Could Wait until 2025 to Cover Wegovy
More than 3 million people with Medicare could be eligible for coverage of Wegovy now that the blockbuster weight loss drug is also approved in the U.S. for heart health. Some eligible beneficiaries could still face out-of-pocket costs for the highly popular and expensive drug, KFF said. The program's prescription drug plans could spend an additional net $2.8 billion if just 10% of the eligible population, an estimated 360,000 people, use the drug for a full year.

NC Aging: A Roadmap to Aging and Living Well
From 2021 to 2041, the state’s older population is expected to grow from 1.8 million people to 2.7 million. By 2031, state demographers predict there will be more people in North Carolina over the age of 64 than younger than 18. The plan was spurred by an executive order issued by Gov. Roy Cooper in May 2023 that called for a “whole-of-government approach” to make the state hospitable to an increasingly aging population.

363 Black and 402 white women enrolled in the Chicago site of the Study of Women's Health Across the Nation when they were 42–52 years old. Cognition (measured as processing speed and working memory) was assessed annually or biennially over a maximum of 20 years, with an average follow-up of 9.8 years. The question of interest was to determine whether better cardiovascular health was related to less cognitive decline equally for both Black and white midlife women.
