First Responders Need Mental Health Training
Fredericksburg police responded to an accident in which an 8-year-old boy ran in front of a car and was struck. In previous times, responding officers would have had to simply “suck it up” and move on to the next assignment. But thanks in part to a $174,000 federal grant the city and other members of the Rappahannock Regional Justice Academy received in 2022. Sen. Mark Warner was instrumental in securing the grant.
