Africa CDC Recent Activities in DRC
Africa CDC is collaborating with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uganda to mobilize support to ensure adequate response and implementation of prevention and control measures, including deployment of senior experts from the AU’s Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) The African Union is currently deployed to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and have been involved in implementing key interventions in partnership with the Government and other partners .

Cannabis Use and Cardiovascular Outcomes
An analysis of survey data for 430,000 adults in the U.S. found that using cannabis, most commonly through smoking, eating or vaporizing it, was significantly associated with a higher risk of heart attack and stroke . The increase in the combined risk of coronary heart disease, heart attack, and stroke was similar to the risk among the subset of adults who had never used e-cigarettes but did use cannabis .
