In December, Attorney General Josh Stein announced that Juul would pay another $7.8 million to the state. In January, Stein announced the launch of a searchable database of Juul documents that can be used by the public and researchers. The state is in the first full year of spending money from the settlement.

Colorado must work to successfully implement House Bill 1300, a 2023 law that requires the state’s Medicaid agency to take steps to keep all kids covered continuously between birth and age 3 by 2026.

South Korea's government criticized senior doctors at a major hospital for threatening to resign. About 12,000 junior doctors in South Korea have been off the job for a month to protest a government plan to sharply increase medical school admissions. Officials say the plan is meant to add more doctors to deal with the country’s rapidly aging society, but doctors say universities can’t handle an abrupt, steep increase in the number of students.

Iron County emergency manager says I-15 has become a major drug corridor running right through southern Utah. For years, Colson has received the life-saving medication Narcan from the Southwest Utah Public Health Department. Recently, he found out that the funding for Narcan had run out in November. The Health Department no longer has an opioid program.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission released a statement on Tuesday in reference to a potential data breach that could affect 3,392 residents living in or close to the cities of Tyler, Texarkana, Longview, Marshall, Beaumont and Nacogdoches. According to the release, it was discovered that a staff member emailed spreadsheets containing sensitive health and personal information to their personal email account between September and October of 2023.
