Health Equity Challenges for GLP-1 Agonists
In the second part, we are covering anti-obesity medications that are being tested to treat heart disease and how scientists and physicians are addressing health equity challenges around these drugs. Most recently, initial studies have shown that they can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by reducing overall body weight. In the international, multicenter trial, more than 17,000 patients who were 45 years or older, had cardiovascular disease, and were overweight or had diabetes.

U.S. Health Payment Crisis Threatens Health-Care Providers
Biden administration officials demanded UnitedHealth Group take more steps to stabilize the U.S. health system following a national health payment crisis. Change Healthcare, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth, has been offline since a Feb. 21 cyberattack, stalling payments to tens of thousands of hospitals, physician groups and other organizations. The Biden Administration has pleaded with UnitedHealth to accelerate emergency funding to affected providers.
