Australians are the world’s 10th worst greenhouse gas emitters per person, just after Saudi Arabia. In 2023, it was 7.5, down from 8.7 the previous year. The decline was mostly due to reduced rainfall compared to 2022.

The Southern Health Trust said its Acute Care at Home service had prevented almost 14,000 hospital admissions in 10 years. It has also enabled early discharge for almost 2,000 people, according to the trust.

Blair Canniff, 62, was taken to a hotel south of Edmonton after spending months in the Royal Alexandra Hospital, as he recovered from a stroke. In early March, he said he was told that he would be moving to long-term care facility and was not given any other options. After a week at the hotel he says he has since been re-admitted.

India also has the most air quality monitors in South Asia – while some wealthy petro-nations have virtually none.
