The bills arose in response to the August attack that affected Waterbury, Manchester Memorial and Rockville General hospitals, all owned by California-based private equity firm Prospect Medical Holdings. A new study was presented at the American College of Cardiology's Annual Scientific Session found that having anxiety or depression could accelerate the development of cardiovascular risk factors among young and middle-aged women. Anxiety and depression have also become more prevalent in recent years, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. The researchers reported that younger women with anxiety were nearly twice as likely to develop high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes over a 10-year period.
