The Eastern Colorado Roundup Board called a special work session last Monday, March 4. Byron Guy was appointed to be in charge of finding entertainment for the annual night show. In January, new Board member Monica Hunt expressed her desire to help along with that process for 2024.

The City Council renewed the area’s entertainment district license recently with one new requirement: All applications for licenses or permits for special events must come through the property owners, not the individual businesses. Both are an attempt to improve the operation of the entertainment district — which includes The Railyard and surrounding businesses just south of Pinnacle Bank Arena. The consultant will advise the city and two limited liability companies that own the property.

The City of McKinney has reached a preliminary agreement with Notes Live for the development of a 20,000-seat open-air amphitheater located on 46 acres at the northeast corner of U.S. 75 and S.H. 121. This project represents a potential investment in the community in excess of $220 million. It is estimated to bring over 1,300 direct and indirect jobs to the community and an economic impact of roughly $3 billion to the area over the first ten years.
