Around them, reporters and diplomats from around the world milled about the cavernous lobby, many invited back for the first time since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic four years earlier. But normal in today’s China has a different meaning than before.

World Relief Wisconsin and Rep. Karen Hurd Confirm Details About the Process of Resettling 75 refugees in the Chippewa Valley
Gail Cornelius, the newly-appointed Regional Director for World Relief Wisconsin, confirmed that 21 people from four different families have arrived in the Chippewa Valley since Feb. 4, 2024. They are from the Congo, Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. World Relief doesn’t know where the remaining 54 refugees will come from until the refugees have been fully vetted, completed all of the security clearances needed and approved by the federal government.

World War II Airman's Revealed in Papua New Guinea
Locals in Papua New Guinea found the SBD Dauntless, a World War II plane, in the jungle last month. The plane went down on Jan. 14, 1944, was reportedly carrying pilot Lt. Billy Ray Ramsey and gunner Sgt. Charlie J. Sciara. U.S. authorities have been made aware of the wreck, SWNS said.

Lauren Macuga earned two career-best results in this past weekend's Kvitfjell, Norway World Cup. The 21-year-old alpine skier finished seventh then fifth in Saturday and Sunday's super-g races, topping her previous best of 10th.
