World Health Organization (WHO) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have revealed the theme of the sixth annual World Food Safety Day (WFSD), taking place June 7, 2024. According to WHO, one in ten people around the world are sickened by unsafe food every year, and more than 200 diseases are caused by eating food contaminated by bacteria, viruses, parasites, or chemical substances. The theme of WFSD 2024 is to bring attention to unexpected crises that can threaten food safety

The Radar Women of World War II
WARD was a civilian organization comprised of women who played a crucial role in air defense during World War II. Volunteers for WARD, primarily military spouses, underwent rigorous training. Criteria for recruitment included an age range of 20 to 34, no children, and the successful passage of an Army intelligence test. These women became skilled in plotting airplane positions using experimental radar technology.

Moose Jaw to host World Curling Championship in 2025
World Curling and Curling Canada announced Friday the 2025 BKT Tires world men’s curling championship will be played at the Moose Jaw Events Centre from March 29 to April 6 of next year. In addition to determining a world champion, the competition also will determine seven countries that will join host nation Italy in the 2026 Winter Olympics. The final two Olympic berths will be decided at the Olympic qualification event.
