On Tuesday, it let water flow out of the lake to begin testing the 1,050-foot-long flume that will run along the east bank of the Arkansas River. It will be even more exciting come Labor Day weekend, when the dam, the lake, the pedestrian bridge and the flume will open to the public. The flume is intended to be used for kayaking, surfing and rafting.
