The Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship hosted the panel discussion on March 13 in partnership with the University’s National Institute on AI in Society (NIAIS). Organic pest control company M3 Agriculture Technologies received a $1 million grant from the National Nuclear Security Administration's Office of Radiological Security. The partnership landed on M3, which uses gamma radiation to sterilize species in a method it calls the sterile insect technique. It then releases the infertile insects from a drone into orchards already infested with the undesirable species so they can reproduce with wild populations.
