The city of Dallas says the signs can be used to provide free public wifi to an area, broadcast emergency alerts in real-time, and direct visitors to the city's attractions and restaurants. Some, though, are skeptical of all those promises. The signs are marketed as money-makers for cities with revenue split between the city and the private company managing them.

Samsung's Memory Chip Sales More Than Doubled in the First Quarter
South Korean company's memory chip sales nearly doubled in the first quarter from a year earlier. In the second half of 2024, business conditions are expected to remain positive with demand - mainly around generative AI - holding strong. Samsung's own estimate of 6.6 trillion won flagged earlier this month, its highest operating profit since the third quarter of 2022.

PsiQuantum’s Quantum Computers
AD PsiQuantum believes the best approach is using individual photons as qubits, by manipulating single particles of light. This is among the most difficult methods of quantum computing, but it made a bet that it was ultimately the most practical for large scale quantum computers because of the existing infrastructure built around photonics. It plans to build its quantum computers inside cryogenic cabinets built by a company that makes meat lockers.
