The Michigan Daily spoke to four curators at different University museums about their work to investigate why they include the pieces they do and their mission as curators. Jennifer Friess, associate director of curatorial affairs and associate curator of photography, is heading into her eighth year working at the University of Michigan Museum of Art. Most recently, she collaborated with artist Andrea Carlson on an exhibition that tells the stories of the Burt Lake Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians who were forced off their northern Michigan land in 1900.
