Joan Benoit Samuelson is the only woman in the world to have run sub-three-hour marathons in five consecutive decades. At the 2019 Berlin Marathon, she ran 3:02, nearly becoming the first woman to clock a sub-distance in six consecutive decades. In 2019, she ran the Boston Marathon to celebrate her then 40-year-old victory from 1979, wearing the same outfit she donned four decades before.
