French lawmakers have approved a bill that will enshrine a woman's right to an abortion in the French Constitution. The vote makes France the first country to have a constitutional right to abortion since the former Yugoslavia inscribed it in its 1974 constitution. In Ireland, voters will decide on Friday whether to change the constitution to remove passages referring to women’s domestic duties and broaden the definition of the family.
