Helga Gretschmann Jones, 89, was born in Bad Nassau, Germany, in 1934. She was the youngest daughter of a master baker turned operations manager and homemaker. When she was nine years old, her father was taken by the Gestapo as a political prisoner due to anti-Nazi views. "You just keep going, you can’t give up," said Jones.
