In this context, we have compiled a list of 20 countries with the lowest slum populations in the world. In a nutshell, a lack of adequate fundamental services such as water and sanitation can contribute to excessive pressure on cities. The United Nations estimated that in 2022, 55% of the world’s population lived in urban areas, which amounted to more than one billion people.
