The storm is currently at about its greatest strength, a very deep winter-type low. It has tapped a modified atmospheric river and will deliver heavy rain to southern California and the Kern County mountains overnight. The extreme rain will fall in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, as well as northern Los Angeles county. As the low arrives it will transit our region just to our south.
