A bald eagle nest in Toronto has birdwatchers and conservationists excited about what it means for the region's biodiversity. The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) confirmed in an email to CBC Toronto that this is the first ever documented bald nest in Ontario. In the 1960s, only a few hundred nesting pairs remained, according to the Canadian Paediatric Society.
