Colorado public schools in El Paso County are still working to remove lead from drinking water fixtures following a state law passed in 2022 that required schools to test and report by May 31, 2023. Fixtures with some of the highest amounts of lead have included: kitchen faucet yielding 130 ppb at Manitou Springs Elementary School.
