despite industry-wide efforts, gender pay gap reports, TED talks and campaigns to encourage girls to study science subjects at school and university, the percentage of women employed in the UK tech sector has barely moved from 15.7% in 2009 to 17% today. Women occupy just 10% of senior management positions in the sector. In Europe, only 15% of start-ups are founded or co-founded by women.
