The United Football League (UFL) debuted on March 30 and introduced a new way to determine first downs. Instead of using the traditional method - using sticks and a chain to determine a first down - the UFL will utilize what's called "TrU Line Technology. This innovative technology promises to deliver ball-spotting with unprecedentedly low latency and high accuracy. The UFL also introduced three new rules for the 2024 season.
