This is the first meta-analysis to evaluate the effects of technology-supported behavior change interventions for reducing sodium intake on 24HUNa, SBP, and DBP. Subgroup analyses showed that intervention frequency and the BCTs of 6.1 ‘demonstration of the behavior’ and 8.1 ‘behavioral practice/rehearsal’ were significantly associated with the effect. Other effective intervention characteristics in reducing 24H UNa, such as primary technology type and intervention delivery mode, were also identified.
