TCL 3.0 looks specifically at tigers whose ancestors first appeared in Eurasia 62 million years ago. The total area of TCLs, or Tiger Conservation Landscapes, declined from 1.025 million to about 912,000 square kilometers between 2001 and 2020. India, Nepal, Bhutan, northern China and southeastern Russia have all seen expansions of tiger habitats.
