Regulation 2024/868 amending Council Decision 2009/917/JHA. The new regulation is to ensure a consistent approach to the protection of personal data in the Union. the amending rules seek to ensure that the personal data protection rules laid down in the said Decision respect the principle of purpose limitation, be limited to specified categories of data subjects.
