Congressman Steve Cohen of Memphis announced that more money is on its way to the Bluff City to aid in that fight. Cohen secured $1.9 million of federal community project funding for the Memphis Police Department, much of that funding is going towards technology. As MPD continues the search for more officers, leaders within the department hope technology helps fill the gap.
