A record 775,00 fans are estimated to have attended draft festivities in downtown Detroit, surpassing the 600,000 people that took in the action in Nashville in 2019. On TV, the draft’s first round drew an average audience of 12.1 million viewers, up 6% from last year’s opening night. The NFL has increasingly put effort into making the unveiling of game dates and TV windows a must-see event itself.
